Le Bapteme de la Solitude draws upon the artists' experience in the vast expanse of the Sahara along with the writings of Paul Bowles (specifically a short passage called 'Le Bapteme de la Solitude) to further his 'Horizon Lines' series and their meditations on solitude and the line. Using vintage Saharan indigo cloths, acrylic paints on raw, stitched linen; the combination of found and drawn elements plays upon notions of place, time, craft and process to create minimal works with a profound sensibility to them. *The artwork is stretched on a custom made stretcher and could be rolled up for shipping. However, a new stretcher would need to be made in destination, if this were to be the case!
