Jon Legere
Brooklyn, NY, USA
Biography
Jon Legere is an artist from Bermuda based in New York. Legere's work engages with issues related to autobiography of island life and city urbanism.
Employing diverse aesthetic strategies and mediums — including sculpture, drawing, collage, painting, and video — he examines the tensions between chaos and serenity, found and manipulated. The brightness found within his work reflects his upbringing in Bermuda. Saturated and intense colors provide the best contrast to the brilliant sunshine that is ubiquitous on beachy islands.
