Keren Toledano

I had been reading Emily Dickinson's poem, "In Winter, In My Room," on the day I finished this piece. There was something in the dark background and dreamlike, ethereal quality of the shapes that reminded me of the poem. The poem invokes a fear of the unknown, yet the simultaneous seductiveness of the dark spaces we do not inhabit yet dream of at night. There is a push and pull in this dichotomy. We fear the unknown, and this draws us to it.
