Mike Childs

This is the first in a series of six begun in 2012. It was a abstracted portrait of painter Steve Parrino, whom mentored me as I arrived in New York. I put the series away for six years and then re-worked them in 2019 after a series of dreams concerning my relationship with Steve who passed away in 2005 on New Years eve. The whole series was exhibited in 2020 at my retrospective "The Journey: Grids, Color and Curvilinear forms, 2004 to 2020" at the David Richard Gallery.
