I painted this on location in MT Vernon, NY. I started it in August, but it was so damn hot out and the smoke from the pop up jerk shop, made it feel even hotter! I waited a month and went back to finish the painting and unfortunately the Sparkling Car Wash had closed down, but luckily the Jerk Shop was still going strong. The place always had a line, it attracted a steady steam of customers. I met the cooks and tried the food, which was very good.
